We
also found that Lowline cattle are not miniatures
as many of the Angus breeders try and make
you believe. We have been very impressedwith
their feed efficiency and their ability to
finish on grass. If you have small farms, you
will find Lowline cattle to be very easy on
your land and very docile and easy to handle
in comparison to other cattle breeds.
We were very fortunate to have purchased our first Lowline cattle
from a very knowledgeable breeder Topline Lowlines in Monroe, Washington who
helped us pick the right cattle from the start for our new herd of Lowlines and
who
continues to help us along the way today. We also have some good Lowline cattle
from Big Island Lowlines Edmonton, Alberta and Cloverdale Farms of Rathdrum,
Idaho who have helped us along the way as well.
Our
herd of cattle that started at three in January has
now grown to twelve, we would like to continue to
broaden our genetics to provide Lowline cattle to
future customers and our own herd of Lowline cattle.
80
years ago the first herd of Angus cattle went to
the Trangie research centre in Australia from Canada
with the Blackcap Revolution family to start the
Lowline breed as we know it today we are hoping that
our new bull calf High Point Revolution can have
a small part in adding to the Lowline breed in Canada
and the USA like his ancestors have with this great
breed of cattle.
If
you are in the area and would like to see our Lowline
cattle, please give us a call or email
us.
